The winners of the prestigious 69th National Film Awards were announced recently at a ceremony in New Delhi. Superstars like Allu Arjun, Alia Bhatt and Kriti Sanon took home the Best Actor awards this year.
National Film Awards 2023 took place at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi, where President Droupadi Murmu presented the prestigious awards to all the winners. Allu Arjun was honored with Best Actor for his powerful performance as Pushpa Raj in the Telugu blockbuster ‘Pushpa: The Rise’. Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt and Kriti Sanon shared the Best Actress prize for their brilliant acts in ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ and ‘Mimi’ respectively. R. Madhavan’s directorial debut ‘Rocketry: The Nambi Effect’, a biopic on renowned Indian scientist Nambi Narayanan took home the best feature film trophy. Whereas the Marathi film ‘Godavari’ earned its director Nikhil Mahajan the prize for Best Director.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali also made his mark by winning the Best Editing award for ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’. Other key winners included Pankaj Tripathi for ‘Mimi’ (Best Supporting Actor), Pallavi Joshi for ‘The Kashmir Files’ (Best Supporting Actress) and more. The National Film Awards recognize the best talents across the Indian film industry. The 2023 edition saw stars like Allu Arjun and Alia Bhatt get their due credit alongside veterans and indie cinema. It highlighted the diverse pool of excellence in Indian cinema.
