Super Dancer Chapter 3 Faces Legal Trouble Over S*xually Explicit Questions To A Child Contestant

The most-watched reality dance show Super Dancer Chapter 3 on Indian television is everyone’s favourite. The show that debuted in 2019 has landed into trouble. According to recent reports the show’s judges, Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty, choreographer Geeta Kapoor, and Anurag Basu, have been accused of asking “vulgar and sexually explicit questions” to a young contestant.

The questions that were asked in the episode were so worrysome that The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has taken action, The commission issued a notice to Sony Pictures Networks airing the show, demanding the immediate removal of the contentious episode from all platforms. The Commission has expressed deep concern over inappropriate and disturbing questions that were asked to the minor child. In addition to violating the Commission’s guidelines for child and adolescent participation in the entertainment industry, the co-content has sparked controversy. This has literally raised eyebrows on social media platforms like Twitter.

The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has urged the show’s producers to respond soon to the notice. They not only asked to remove the episode but also provide an explanation that why it was asked from a child contestant’s parents during the show. The Commission’s Chairperson emphasized the seriousness of the matter, requesting an Action Taken Report (ATR) to be submitted within 7 days.
