Yash Raj Films Decides To Take A Break From Ranveer Singh

After giving back-to-back flops Yash Raj Films has now decided to take a break from Ranvir Singh. Here are the other reasons why they have decided to do so.

Ranveer Singh

Band Baaja Baaraat marked Ranveer Singh’s memorable debut in Bollywood in 2010, and he was once touted as the next big thing in the industry. However, since the pandemic hit, the actor’s performance has suffered significantly. His highly anticipated film ’83 (2021) failed to attract audiences, while Jayeshbhai Jordaar (2022) was a disaster, grossing only Rs. 15.59 crores. Talking about his film Cirkus (2022) in spite of having a lot of expectations it failed to impress viewers with Rs. 35.65 crores in lifetime earnings. There are reports in the industry that Yash Raj Films (YRF), the studio that launched his career, has decided not to collaborate with him at present.

According to a source, Aditya Chopra, the head of Yash Raj Films (YRF), and his core team is currently focused on the YRF Spy Universe. Recently, they achieved a blockbuster hit with Pathaan (2023). The film starred Shah Rukh Khan. And they are now preparing for the release of Tiger 3, featuring Salman Khan. The team is also planning future films for this universe, and since each film requires a significant budget, there is no room for error. Therefore, they need to give their utmost concentration to every aspect of the films, from pre-production to the final release.

The source said It’s also important to note that while these 6 films made money due to the sale of OTT and satellite rights, the box office returns were in the red for Yash Raj Films. Therefore ”Yash Raj Films’ decided to currently take a break from working with Ranveer Singh for a time being. The possibility of considering him for future projects still exists provided that YRF finds a suitable script that justifies his role and fits within the right mid-budget range to ensure the film’s overall commercial success.
